The Ultimate Guide To Guinness Punch - A Caribbean Favourite

Calling all Guinness lovers (and haters!)

FRIEDA ANWAR

As someone who has only drunk one-half pint of Guinness at the Guinness factory in Dublin (because what else do you do there?), I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of the stout drink. However, I’ve grown up with a lot of Caribbean influences and I have to say, the way my Jamaican friends and family drink it is my favourite – Paul, if you’re reading this, you know exactly what I mean. It’s a little slice of the Caribbean.

Recipe

Guinness punch is traditionally served at Christmas and there are a few variations, but for me, this simple way is the best way. You’ll need:

  • 1 bottle of Guinness Foreign Extra (not the regular cans!)
  • 1.5 tins of nourishment
  • 1 tin of condensed milk
  • Nutmeg
  • Variations include the addition of white rum and vanilla
  • 1. Empty the bottle of Guinness into a large bowl
  • 2. Add tins of nourishment (don’t be put off by the froth!)
  • 3. Add tin of condensed milk (start with half if you don’t want it too sweet)
  • 4. Grate fresh nutmeg
  • 5. Whisk until smooth
  • 6. Chill and serve over ice

If you’re looking to elevate your Guinness game during the 6 Nations, this recipe is a must-try!
